Imps are the merging of Land and emotion. As defined by Wolf & Goat, an Imp is somewhat similar to a goblin, though its variations come about by its particular attraction and emanation from a given ‘thing’, be it animal, plant, area, event, way, thought, etc., e.g. ‘Imp of Bats’ or ‘Imp of Mugwort’ or ‘Imp of Petulance’.
These spirits are created through the combination of extremes of human emotion, and the product thereof blending with the possibilities of human and/or animal death, along with place and circumstance, quite often through the ingredient of tears as the main life-giver. As such, Imps often carry potencies and behaviors more frequently noted in pure spirits of nature, and generally - unless they are particularly the Imp of a fully sentient force - do not display human characteristics or patterns of behavior.
This oil is the one used by Wolf & Goat in the activation of the charge-bundles within its Imp fetishes, and may be used to contact, create, attract, feed or control spirits falling into Wolf & Goat’s classification of ‘Imp’ and their ilk.
