This living hand, now warm and capable
Of earnest grasping, would, if it were cold
And in the icy silence of the tomb,
So haunt thy days and chill thy dreaming nights
That thou wouldst wish thine own heart dry of blood
So in my veins red life might stream again,
And thou be conscience-calmed--see here it is--
I hold it towards you.
-John Keats, 'This Living Hand'
The hand - the actor of the body, the grip of the performer and the welcome of the supplicant - a monster that seizes forth at desires both wicked and mundane, a worker of healing and terror. The servant of the brain. The Oil of Hands gives one more, spider-like, that many fingers may also whisper and grab at once.
Comprised in part of a variety of hands and paws and claws and hooves, a multitude of seeds, wax and willow, eleven little murderers crowned in shell and red, yarrow and devil’s claw, spanish moss and amber, an eyeball and a sloe, a shark tooth given life and an army of needles, threaded for the task…
An oil to pull forward what is called and what is asked; to seize opportunities or strangle others; to insert oneself into otherwise closed situations; or, to achieve the Upper Hand.
All vegetal, mineral and animal ingredients are legally obtained. Instructions and information will be provided on a cloth scroll.
Price is for one half ounce bottle of Oil of Hands. If you are interested in greater amounts, please contact us.
